Changing seasons

 There's a cool bite to the air this morning. I don't mind letting summer go and I love the colours of autumn. It's winter that, in this country, seems to outstay its welcome by one month. That last month before daffodils and March hares, always seems a long one to get through. 

Knowing now what I did not know last year, that January and February are the most brutal in a shop's calendar as no-one wants to buy anything after Christmas, these next  four months are the most important. As a friend mentioned yesterday, department stores reckon to take around 80% of their money in the quarter before Christmas...
